Picture
The Preble Soil and Water Conservation District is pleased to announce the winner of the 2016 $1,000 college scholarship, Brian Ketring.

Brian, son of Dean and Marilyn Ketring, grew up on a small cattle farm outside of Camden. He attended Preble Shawnee High School and participated in both 4-H and FFA. He graduated high school in 2014 and is continuing his education at The Ohio State University, majoring in Agribusiness and Applied Economics. At OSU he is involved with Agribusiness Club, Saddle and Sirloin, Habitat for Humanity, and Alpha Gamma Sigma fraternity, where he’s currently serving as the president. After graduating, he hopes to return to Preble County and obtain a position in the agribusiness industry while helping with his family’s farm operation.

The Preble SWCD scholarship is awarded annually to a student pursuing a degree in agriculture or natural resources. A winner is selected based on academic standing, extra-curricular activities, community involvement, and leadership. The SWCD values the opportunity to support future leaders in our industry through the scholarship program. Congratulations to Brian and best wishes in the future.
